August – September
Despite the summer holiday season August showed no let-up in signage and wrapping projects, with some interesting jobs completed, and happily September has carried on in the same way.
The Rusty Rally is billed as ‘a European adventure for the mediocre motor car’ (their words not ours!) – a challenge of driving over 1,000 miles in 3 days through 7 countries in a vehicle worth less than £500, all to raise funds for the Outward Bound Trust.
Our task was to jazz up an old Saab with some striking graphics for her next adventure, and when we were done we reckon she was looking mighty fine!
These cast bronze stand-off letters look very elegant on the new student accommodation building Cowan Court at Churchill College, Cambridge, and were a real pleasure to install.
We also manufactured and installed a variety of wayfinding signs fitted around the building.
Continuing our proud association with Addenbrookes, we were delighted to be involved in fitting vehicle signage and graphics to this patient courtesy bus for the hospital.
Steak & Honour
Two Chefs, Two Vans, and for a limited time only, One Signwriter!
James fitted temporary window graphics for Steak and Honour, a new kitchen being fitted out in Wheeler Street and opening in the Autumn to complement the two classic Citroen H vans you may have seen moving around various events in the Cambridge area. It was hungry work being up close and personal with those images of some tasty looking burgers. Roll on the opening day!
July was another busy month for us with a big variety of signs, graphics, van and car wrapping projects completed.
It’s A Wrap
The month got underway with a car wrapping project on a Land Rover Discovery Sport, creating a two-tone effect by fully wrapping the roof. We used the excellent 3M Wrap 1080 Series vinyl which we chose as it’s great for long-term use whilst remaining easy to remove, and is specifically designed for solid colour vehicle detailing.
The Cambridge Rain Forest
Then it was off to recreate a Cambodian rainforest vibe (as you do on a Friday!) at Fauna & Flora International in Cambridge, with some beautiful forest images printed on digital wallcoverings – some of the most effective digital murals we’ve seen (and we’ve printed and installed quite a few!)
Taking Centre Stage
The Big Weekend at Parker’s Piece is a regular fixture in the calendar of Cambridge events and always a sign that summer is here. We were proud to play our part supplying stage banners and large format digital print graphics including a massive 5m x 5m mesh banner back drop to the main stage.
The annual event attracted record numbers of people to Cambridge this year and featured performances from show-stopping artists, along with a range of activities including games, science and sports workshops, face painting, storytelling and a pop-up art gallery.
So, a busy month of signs and graphics action which allowed us to show our range of graphics, sign making and vehicle wrapping skills and it’s already looking like August will bring us plenty more signage challenges!
